On our way south to try and get out of the cold, we stopped in Kansas City, Missouri for a couple of days. We stayed at Worlds of Fun RV Village on the northeast side. This park is connected to the Worlds of Fun Amusement Park. If youโre there during the season, Iโm sure youโll hear the screams of those riding the roller coasters!
Jesse James Birthplace
On our way to Kansas City, we saw signs for Jesse James Birthplace and decided to check it out after we got set up at the campground. In addition to the home he was born in, there is also a short film and museum telling his familyโs story. We definitely recommend stopping there.

Union Station
Be sure to visit Union Station. We were able to find parking for our dually close to the station, as we were there during the week. Before going into the station, we walked up the hill across the street to the World War I Museum. While we didnโt explore the museum itself, we did enjoy the view of the city skyline from the top of the hill. You can go up in the tower for a fee, but since it was a cloudy day, we opted not to.
Walk back down the hill and go inside Union Station. Inside this historic structure, youโll see amazing architectural elements that take you back to a bygone era.

Take the Streetcar from Union Station to City Market
Leave Union Station and take the Streetcar to City Market. This ride gives you a good view of the city and is free to use. Itโs about a half an hour ride, but worth the price! We did choose to walk back to Union Station, which was about two miles.
We had lunch at Minskyโs Pizza at City Market. I had spaghetti and Mike had a Spicy Thai pizza. Both were delicious!

Eat BBQ

Of course a trip to Kansas City wouldnโt be complete without BBQ. Upon a recommendation from the campground, we chose Smokehouse BBQ. We were not disappointed and definitely not hungry after our meal. We were there for lunch so we chose the Mini Gathering. With beef brisket, pork, ham, and pork spare ribs, along with fries and delicious mac and cheese, it was worth the $28.95!
Tour GEHA Field at Arrowhead
For us, no trip to a major city would be complete without touring their stadium!
While we are not necessarily Chiefs fans, we do love touring stadiums. And this one was pretty great. As youโll see below, we were able to go to the field, the locker room, and where the trophies are kept. We highly recommend doing this tour if youโre in town.

Conclusion
Even if you only have a couple of days in Kansas City, Missouri, there is still plenty to do. We enjoyed our time there and may go backโto try more BBQ!
