February 2025
February is known as the month for Valentineโs Day and Presidents Day. Itโs the shortest month of the year, and a month where many of us are planning our summer vacations.
If youโre into history and in honor of Presidents Day, I have some places you should put on your travel list.
The Presidential Side of Dallas – JFK to GWB

Dallas is home to the famous Dallas Book Depository Museum detailing the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It is also the home of President George W. Bushโs Presidential Center. We spent time in Dallas and were able to visit both historic sites.
Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park

While in the Dallas area, plan a visit to the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. Known as President Johnsonโs Texas White House, this park includes his boyhood home, ranch where he lived before and after he was president, his Air Force 1, and more. Take your bikes for a nice ride around the property.
Springfield, Illinois – The Land of Lincoln

Spend a couple of days in Springfield, Illinois and immerse yourself in the life on Abraham Lincoln before he became our 16th President. Along with his home, a short walk takes you to his presidential library and museum. Drive a few miles away to his final resting place.

Where are we in February?

This may be the shortest month of the year, but it sure is a busy one! Weโll be finishing up Carlsbad, then on to Alamogordo and Elephant Butte, New Mexico. Then weโre spending time in Bisbee, Tucson, and Yuma, Arizona before beginning our exciting Fantasy RV Tour to Baja California, Mexico. Busy but exciting!
Wonder why our Mission Statement is Donโt Wait to Enhance, Change or Save Your Life?
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023 while we were living our best life. The path I chose allowed us to get back on the road in October 2023.
Breast cancer was just a pothole in our RV travel road and has allowed me to tell my story to others with the hope of saving others through early detection.

Thanks for the tip about staying in Grapevine and taking the transit. We visit Dallas often but haven’t visited the presidential sites (Covid and too hot this past time). Also, we volunteered for two months at LBJ National HIstorical Park – what a great place. Thanks for your post!
So glad you enjoyed the Newsletter! We loved visiting these historic places, and LBJ was one of our favorites to ride bikes!
